Chris Sorrell, co-creator of the *James Pond* game series, has condemned a new remake of the game as "soulless" and riddled with AI-generated content. Sorrell, who was not consulted or involved in the project, stated that the publisher, System 3 Software, clearly lacks respect for the original game. Despite System 3 Software denying the use of AI and releasing production art to refute claims, Sorrell found the evidence laughable, questioning why developers would create Illustrator versions of already fully-realized character designs instead of showing 3D wireframes. He lamented that the collection embodies a "loveless, short-term approach" damaging the industry and expressed his hope that those responsible "choke on an AI-generated fishbone."
