Police have launched an investigation after the body of a newborn baby boy was discovered in a rubbish bin on Harrow Road in Auburn, Sydney. The baby, found unclothed in a plastic rubbish bag by a local resident, is believed to have been born within the past 36 hours. Acting superintendent Darren Sly stated that police hold “serious concerns” for the mother’s welfare and have urged her to seek urgent care at the nearest hospital. Detectives are currently door-knocking, reviewing CCTV footage, and appealing for any information, including dashcam or mobile footage, that could help locate the mother.
